Deerwater County Sheriff's Office
The Deerwater County Sheriff's Office has been around since 1897. It is the oldest public service department for the county, and it is proud of it. In 1932, Ford got the contract for the units, and ever since then, all of the patrol vehicles have been Fords. When Ford announced the closing of their CVPI program, the Sheriff himself needed a new car. The department purchased a Dodge Charger Pursuit for him, but it didn't work out great, and when Ford announced their new Interceptor program, the department donated the old vehicles to the Auxiliary and got the new vehicles. In late 2014, the office is planning to purchase a Ford Fusion Energi for public service and as an Explorer vehicle. The sheriff's office operates Post #3429.
